Hi, my name is Katie! I have been working in the medical field in various specialties for 11 years now, and I am so excited to bring my knowledge and expertise to the Vitality team!
I received both my Bachelor of Science in Human Movement - Exercise Science and my Masters of Fitness Promotion with emphasis on Biomechanics and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation from Utah State University. During my time there, I was actively involved in undergraduate research projects related to human performance in sport at the USU Center for Human Nutrition. I completed a postgraduate internship at Arizona Western College with their sports medicine and athletic training team, and then returned to USU for my master’s degree with a focus on cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation techniques and exercise prescription.
I started my career in healthcare as a phlebotomist, which gave me the exposure I needed to work alongside different specialties in the inpatient and outpatient settings. From there, my passion for healthcare grew and I have worked in emergency medicine, thoracic and trauma intensive care, surgical services, orthopedics, pediatrics, dermatology, and anesthesia services. One of my greatest strengths is the desire to continuously further my education so that I can be a well-rounded healthcare professional and be a resource to others.
Orthopedic medicine has always been a favorite of mine, and it’s what started my interest in the medical field. I look forward to being able to integrate my knowledge of biomechanics and human performance with stem cell and regenerative therapies.
